Renewable Energy Design Tool

Professor Koen Steemers

As part of a CMI funded research project on sustainable building design in collaboration with the BP Institute at Cambridge University, we have developed a simple renewable energy tool.

This web-based tool allows you to estimate the renewable energy contribution and cost implication compared to the base-case building. It provides useful information and web-links related to solar hot water, photovoltaic and wind energy systems. Developed by Dr Jon Woolf with Prof Koen Steemers, this work was funded as part of a CMI project with the BP Institute, Cambridge (Prof Andrew Woods) and the Building Technology Group, MIT (Prof Leon Glicksman).
