RAMP Urban Analytics and Modelling Group: Abstract

This Rapid Assistance in Modelling the Pandemic (RAMP) group of data scientists and modellers responded to the UK’s Royal Society initiative (https://royalsociety.org/topics-policy/Health%20and%20wellbeing/ramp/) with the aim to provide supporting evidence and assistance to the scientists advising the government on urban analytics and spatial modelling.

This RAMP group has been modelling the transmission of the virus through mobility and interactions of people and how this would respond to different policy interventions. Regional differences in infection rate are particularly of interest, as these could show that it may be safe to send people back to work or school in one area of the country but not another. The group is looking at which decisions have more impacts and where they are likely to be felt, and as it responds to the changing situation, the presentation provides the latest update on the work in progress.
